Deepwater Crane Operator
Island Operating is seeking an experienced Deepwater Crane Operator for a 14/14 rotational position supporting decommissioning operations. Candidates must be willing to assist with fill-ins as needed.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of direct Deepwater Crane Operator experience, with a strong background operating large offshore pedestal cranes. Previous decommissioning, P&A, construction, or heavy-lift project experience is strongly preferred.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with:
● Large-capacity offshore pedestal cranes
● Supply boat and offboard lifts in deepwater environments
● Crane load charts, operating radius, boom angle, and safe working limits
● Lift plans, JSAs, rigging arrangements, and exclusion zones
● Pre-use crane inspections and identifying equipment or safety concerns
● Decommissioning/P&A activities, including movement of equipment, tubulars, tooling, containers, and project materials
Candidates must have a strong understanding of offshore lifting practices, dynamic loading, crane safety systems, wire rope and associated lifting equipment, and must be comfortable stopping operations when conditions become unsafe.
Production operations, mechanical, or I&E experience is a strong plus. The selected operator will be expected to assist the offshore team with general facility activities during periods when crane operations are not underway.
